Billed as “The Ultimate Cocktail Soirée,” Secret Summer is the first (and only!) farm-to-bar cocktail festival in NYC. Set for Sunday, August 6th 2017, Secret Summer will be taking place in The Foundry, an industrial, covered in vines, urban decay-esque event space in Long Island City.
The stars of the evening– the drinks– are curated by RAPT New York, using ingredients exclusively grown at Farm One, a hydroponic garden that sources to New York's culinary elite. Accompany the drinks are DJs, garden cuisine (courtesy of cult faves like La Pulperia and Wafles & Dinges ) for when you inevitably get the drunchies, gold foil tattoos, watercolors, a photobooth, live art, and even a non-toxic nail station so you can sip in perfect style.
Mark your calendars, Secret Summer is returning for the third year on Sunday August 4th at The Foundry. With so many food and beverage related events in New York, Secret Summer stands out in so many ways, from location to menu to its platform as being the only farm to bar cocktail event.

Upon entering the main archway of the beautifully restored 19th-century “brick Xanadu,” stood New York-based duo, Coyote and Crow strumming along handmade banjos. Food trucks, Big D's Grub Truck and Eddie's Pizza were situated in the left corner of the courtyard dishing out ‘grinders' and thin-crust pizzas. Across the courtyard, Van Leeuwan served free vegan ice-cream cones from their obvious yellow truck parked straight ahead. SPiN ping-pong tables were lined up along the lush-ivy wall for guests to show off their beer pong skills. Live performances from the Secret Summer Street Ballet team and six-man jazz band, Lucky Chops went down in the center of the cobblestone courtyard.

Secret Summer was a tucked-away farm-to-bar cocktail event held in a secret garden — or at least, it felt that way. The Foundry in Long Island City, often used as a wedding venue, was transformed into a playground for frolicking with cocktails, ballet dancers, magicians and musicians.
Secret Summer 2016 is the second annual Farm-to-Bar Cocktail Festival by New York event production companies' The High Life and RAPT. This unique food and cocktail experience is second to none with its detailed approach to creating an all-consuming, immersive experience. This year's spectacle will take place at the alluring and historic Foundry in Long Island City. Guests will be swept away in their free LYFT ride to the beautiful courtyard and brick-laden structure to enjoy the most exciting trends in Farm-to-Bar mixology amidst an ethereal-chic Summer wonderland riddled with surprises.
Beyond just being a forward-thinking and innovative event, Secret Summer NYC gave New Yorkers a brief respite from the craziness that is the Big Apple. The city is hot, sticky and crowded with a relentless influx of tourists in the summer months causing perpetual stress and the need to escape. Yet, you don't always want that escape to have to be to a faraway land that empties your wallet. The Secret Summer NYC venue provides that reprieve without breaking the bank. As soon as you walk through the arched entryway, the invisible weight of the city is lifted and you are transported to another world.
Secret Summer was August's best comeback to the summer heatwaves.
Ever wondered about the secret to summer? According to Secret Summer, which was a whimsical event held this year at The Foundry in Long Island City, it's a combination of sun, sips, snacks, and some fabulous entertainment. The event took place August 14th and was a most welcome reprieve from the major heatwave we've had.
Secret Summer returned for a 2nd year this past weekend and certainly came back with a bigger bang!! Held at the gorgeous The Foundry, there were five different unlimited craft cocktails to be had by sponsors Woodford Reserve, Gentlemen Jack, Old Forester, Herradura and Finlandia Vodka. Some of the best food vendors such as La Pulperia, Big D's Grub Truck and Van Leeuwen Ice Cream were present to help everyone wash down the spirits.
Guests were thoroughly entertained by all of the evenings activities such as face painting, a ballerina performance, ping pong, a photo booth and more. Musically Ida Blue, Lucky Chops and DJ Ryan Vandal held it down.
Secret Summer will definitely make it on my Highlights Of 2016 list.
Delicious food and cocktails, stunning d&eaigu;cor, and live performances are just some of the things that you can expect at Secret Summer. Secret Summer, New York City's first and only farm-to-bar cocktail festival, returns for its second year this Sunday, Aug. 14.
There are plenty of food festivals thrown throughout the year but Secret Summer on August 14 from 4-10 p.m. at The Foundry is all about cocktails. Some of the city's best mixologists will serve farm-to-bar drinks to pair with fare from popular food trucks across the city.
There aren't many places that you'll be able to find singing buskers, professional dancers, and twelve rooms full of bespoke cocktails, but for one afternoon on Sunday, August 14 at the picturesque Foundry in Long Island City, New York, you will be able to. Secret Summer NYC 2016 is approaching, and with it, a slew of farm-to-table cocktails and a one-of-a kind experience that, if you're in the City, you need to go to.
Secret Summer is an ethereal farm-to-bar cocktail festival that brings a taste of the chic old school garden party right to NYC. Attendees will indulge in unlimited cocktails made with premium spirits and rare herbs from Farm. One, an indoor hydroponic farm in downtown Manhattan. In addition to incredible libations, the event will also boast a fleet of food trucks (Van Leeuwen Ice Cream, Eddie's Pizza and more), aerialists, ballet performances, a live art installation, custom flower crown and flash tattoo stations, a bespoke poetry booth, Spin ping pong garden and much more.
Secret Summer, being held this Sunday, August 14th, is a collaboration between Highlife Productions, Rapt Affairs, and The Foundry. It was born from the collaboration of Tyler Hollinger and Andrew Maturana with the idea of the classic cocktail soiree mixed in with the magic of immersive theatwe. It is NYC's only Farm-to-bar cocktail festival with an emphasis on urban farms like. When asked to provide us with an “elevator pitch” about the increasingly popular Secret Summer event, both Hollinger and Maturana and emphasized the Farm-To-Bar concept.

While we do cover a ton of tech on the site sometimes we do enjoy to chill out and have a nice drink or two. With summer in full swing there is usually some nice outdoor venues to attend and at times soak in the sights. Last week I got a taste or should I say preview of “Secret Summer NYC” at “The Foundry” in Long Island City which is in the borough of Queens, NY.
Food, drink, art, and music collide when Secret Summer returns to Long Island City for its second year. Farm-to-bar cocktails crafted by expert mixologists fill lounge spaces designed by Octavia & Brown; meanwhile, the event plays host to a selection of interactive performances, including ones by magician Vinny DePonto, DJ Lil Rye, aerialists Roxie Valdez and Ellie Steingraeber, and the Secret Summer Ballerinas. Tickets also guarantee unlimited cocktails at tasting stations from the likes of Woodford Reserve and Rekorderlig Cider; access to photo booths and a ping-pong garden by Spin; and food (available for separate purchase) from Korilla BBQ, Eddie's Pizza, Van Leeuwen Artisan Ice Cream, and more. The organizers have even tossed in a discount code for Lyft, to help you get to Long Island City at a 50 percent markdown. We suggest taking them up on the offer.
This Sunday, August 14th, “Secret Summer” is back at The Foundry in Long Island City for its second year. Local cuisine will be available to purchase from few of our favorite restaurants and food trucks — Van Leeuwen Ice Cream and Eddie's Pizza.
This beautiful event space in Long Island City is unique and one of a kind which is perfect for this event filled with food, beverages and ballerinas! From magicians to DJ Lil Rye and even a DIY Flower Crown making demonstration, there is so much to do from 4pm-10pm this coming Sunday. What a better way to end your weekend than with this interactive, enticing, and delectable event. Not only can you participate in a number of activities, but you can also enjoy the warm summer sun, sip fresh and fragrant cocktails, and enjoy one of a kind food pairings along with it all too.
If you're working for the weekend, give yourself something to look forward to and purchase tickets for Secret Summer, New York's first and only farm-to-bar cocktail festival, occuring next Sunday, August 14th. We're particularly excited for the fabulous cocktails garnished with fresh ingredients from urban farms. It's also a great excuse to explore the ever-expanding Long Island City area.
"I can honestly say it was the best summer party I've ever been to in NYC and would highly encourage you to buy tickets... before they sell out."
"New York's got a new secret, but not for long. This dreamlike farm-to-table cocktail event takes place at the Foundry on the East River in Long Island City. It's a garden party with drinks offered by the city's top mixologists and an aesthetic reminiscent of the great cocktail soirees of yesteryear."
"The second annual Secret Summer event comes to The Foundry in August, bringing the first farm-to-bar festival back to New York. The cocktails made by expert mixologists will undoubtedly be exquisite, but it doesn't end there. Ballet dancers, fine art, and specially prepared cuisine will round out the event, which takes advantage of the gorgeous Foundry space in Long Island City."
"Secret Summer is seriously one of the most stylish and delicious events of the season in NYC. I attended the cocktail & food festival last year, and the experience was entirely immersive—it fell somewhere between renaissance fête & fairyland. Twelve rooms at The Foundry were adorned with other-worldly decor, bars featuring inventive mixology, fresh grilled meats & seafood and local produce that each transported me to a new dimension. So naturally I can't wait to get back there this summer!"
"Secret Summer was honestly one of the most wonderful, dreamlike, and fashionable
events in New York City. Even though New Yorkers will be immersed in freezing cold weather, at least
we have something magical to look forward to in summer 2016!"

"As summer wraps up, we reflect on the season's benefits: barbecuing, dining al fresco (no matter what city you might find yourself in), cocktails on the patio, and summer festivals. The latter two were brought together at NYC's Secret Summer event, a cocktail festival popup on Long Island.
But as it goes, some secrets aren't meant to be kept, especially when they involve larger-than-life theatrics, live music, locally sourced food and farm-to-bar cocktails. Get a sneak peek in the video above as Foodable video correspondent Colleen Hagerty takes us into flavor euphoria."
"With summer quickly coming to an end, it's only natural to look back at some of your favorite memories of the season. Those long days at the beach, that sweaty rooftop party, the sunny afternoons spent lounging in the park with a bottle of rosé...
The snaps above were taken at one especially memorable event, Secret Summer NYC,
a Midsummer Night's Dream-themed cocktail and food festival that happened earlier this month at The
Foundry in LIC, Queens. I tossed on this lightweight Reformation dress that I thrifted in Los
Angeles, my roommate & hairstylist Shane Thomas helped me with a quick, romantic updo to deal with
the heat (here's an easy how-to if you're interested), and I grabbed my favorite date (and
photographer) to sample summery cocktails by brands like Cachaca 51 & Herradura Tequila, feast on
unlimited oysters & farm-to-table eats, and listen to ragtime while hanging out in beautiful,
ivy-lined courtyards. All in all, a day well spent! What are some of your favorite summer memories?"

"Andrew from Rapt Affairs contacted us with a dreamy aesthetic vision of his event Secret Summer, which was inspired by the William Shakespeare play A Midsummers Night Dream. This event is specifically bar + food driven with farm to table snacks + mixologists who know how to win a heart through a brilliantly made cocktail. If food + alcohol wasn't enough to swoon you, they also had an interactive play performing through out as well as an aerial artist swinging around on her silks. We LOVE seeing our stuff at The Foundry, and were fascinated by all the bits, so we were up for the challenge!
We decided to deck out the alcoves in The Foundry's main space, which has been something we always wanted to do! We decided to bring some swag by using our moroccan rugs, floor pillows and poufs along side of our tufted ottomans + Sven settee to hold some cozy alcove hang abouts set up for some extreme mingling vibes.
Outside we used the cabana as the vip lounge and curated a dreamy effect by using our warm toned
gold furniture such as the goldie, stay gold and the ella chair + paired it with a beni rug and a
factory cart. Threw a couple twig side tables to hold some champagne glasses + the champagne bucket
to set the tone for those vip'ers to get their swank drank on in the breezy cabana. It really set
the tone and tied in nicely with the decor of the event. This was a fun occasion to participate in +
it looked like everyone had a blast at the event."

"August 2nd started as a normal Sunday, but then, I was "Lyfted" to the
brick-walled Foundry in Long Island City for Secret Summer NYC. This all-inclusive festival was
brought to life by Rapt Affairs Boutique Events and Highlife Productions, who transformed the
unforgettable Queen's space into a Mid-Summer night oasis complete with local food, music, live
performances, Shakespeare sonnets, prancing fairies and cocktails vendors."

"Fairies greeted you at the door, applied branded flash tattoos and escorted you
inside the indoor/outdoor space. Additional characters that looked like they could
have been from Neverland, danced among the crowd and others recited Shakespearean
prose. Mini bottles of bubbles were handed out to attendees so they could add to the
ambiance. ...This whimsical night was a one-of-a-kind experience that I hope will
become a yearly tradition for summer events in Queens."

"Everyone loves a good party, but it's even better when it's full of surprises.
It's this spontaneity that made Secret Summer so charming and memorable. The whimsical garden
cocktail party was held at The Foundry on Sunday, August 2nd, where guests wearing their summer best
were mingling amidst mischievous performers breaking out into song and dance. At first glance, it
seemed like any other summer soiree, but not everything was what it seemed, and while curiosity
killed the cat, here it paid to open Pandora's box."
"This weekend, I attended a dreamy summer event held at The Foundry, a ridiculously beautiful brick, ivy-draped event space in Long Island City. It was called Secret Summer and was a Midsummer Night's Dream themed immersive event put on by Rapt Affairs. It was basically a playground for adults, with multiple rooms and a majestic outdoor courtyard.
Every corner of the event was filled with something magical, whether it was ragtime music, food
trucks or farm-to-bar cocktail concoctions. Fairies flooded the space in white wings, and at times,
we would be surprised by a couple of actors whisking their way through one of the many rooms,
performing a Shakespearean scene, or an aerial dancer swinging from the ceiling. My fave was the
mentalist, Vinny DePonto, who strutted around reading our minds."
"My favorite part of the whole experience was probably the feeling of escaping
from the world for the afternoon and evening. For the short while, you were immersed in a dream-like
Shakespearian world, where you could stand outside the drama depicted by the actors and enjoy the
bliss of summer. There was a distinct moment I recall of standing in the middle of the courtyard,
watching the girl using a bubble machine blast the area with bubbles, where I looked up at the blue
sky, took a deep breath and felt my whole body letting go of stress..."
"I hope everyone had a chance to purchase tickets and attend the Secret Summer Cocktail Festival over the weekend. It was such a delightful event and I couldn't have asked for better weather since part of the festival took place outside in the garden. Secret Summer, Shrunken Shakespeare Company, Rapt Affairs & The High Life Productions put together one heck of a 6 hour festival.
Here's some of the photos I was able to capture. Enjoy!"
"On yesterday's beautiful evening, I had the pleasure of hitting Secret Summer
NYC, a cocktail and farm-to-table garden party in the courtyard of The Foundry, which spun magic
with its ambiance that fell somewhere between renaissance fête & fairyland. Twelve rooms that each
transported me to a new dimension were adorned with other-worldly decor, bars featuring inventive
mixology, fresh grilled meats & seafood and local produce by Rapt Affairs. For hours I leisurely
ate, drank and took in the fabulous entertainment."

"Oh man, do you love secrets? Of course you do! Or, you know, secrets you can tell, kind of, not like Soviet spy deadly secrets. Actually, what about food? Do you love food? O.K., great, you're going to love the Secret Summer 2015 Food and Cocktail Festival. This year's event is Midsummer Night's Dream-themed, which means that it will be happening outside, in garden courtyards, and that there's going to be at least one person wearing those laurel wreath things you can buy at Urban Outfitters. Guests will sip "farm-to-cocktail" specialties and enjoy bites from a "grass fed grill." If that's not tempting enough, you'll be able to get custom gold flash tattoos, which look so cool, cooler than temporary tattoos ought to look, really. And you can watch flying aerialists. You can capture your response to all the festivities in the Bosco photo booth and can dance to ragtime music by The Idea Blue Band. And if absolutely none of that is appealing, you can also play beer pong (and if that was the only thing that appealed to you, we can never be friends, but that is O.K., you can have your beer pong, I can go to the champagne cabana, we'll both be O.K.)."
"Get the most out of the dwindling summer on Sunday, with the Secret Summer sustainable food and cocktail festival, an immersive event held at the Foundry in LIC, with live ragtime and a VIP oyster-and-Champagne lounge."
"Let's be real: we all have dreamed of mysteriously stumbling upon a secret,
wondrous garden lead by a flamboyant man, wearing a large statement hat, and you aren't quite sure
what he has up his sleeves. Well, if you're in New York, you're in luck! This Sunday, put on your
garden party dress and get ready for Secret Summer's Midsummer Night's Dream Soiree — an
all-inclusive, farm-to-bar cocktail festival."
"Garden party with a touch of Gatsby.
You've never seen a garden party like this before. Secret Summer Cocktail Festival promises all the decadence and hedonism of a Gatsby party, with top mixologists creating scintillating concoctions for you to try. Savor the delicious food, watch breathtaking aerialists, play oversize beer pong, and pull faces in the photo booth, all washed down with cocktails galore. Plus you'll get a special code for your Lyft ride to the event. Summer is sweet."
"A farm-to-bar and food festival with themes taken from A Midsummer Night's Dream takes over the Foundry in Long Island City on August 2 from 4-10 p.m. It's a day filled with champagne, unlimited cocktails, food trucks, and other entertaining suprises. Guests are encouraged to look for a man with a hat to lead them to the soiree, which tickets ($150) are available online. 42-38 Ninth St., Long Island City"

Food trucks from Korilla BBQ, Morris Food Truck and Van Leeuwen Artisan Ice Cream will also be on hand to dish up their seasonal offerings throughout the day."
"There's summer, and now there's "Secret Summer." In the tradition of the Jazz
Age Lawn Party on Governor's Island, this new event combines local food, music and cocktail vendors
in a summer chic-themed, day-long extravaganza on August 2nd. From 2 p.m. to 10 p.m."
"We all know what to wear for all the music festivals out there, H&M even rolled
out a Coachella-themed collection this Spring. So when the team at NYC's first Secret Summer
festival approached me about a What to Wear post, I couldn't be more excited. Secret Summer is an
all-inclusive farm-to-bar cocktail festival that will showcase inventive mixology and farm-to-table
eats while advocating progressive ideas about locality, sustainability and tomorrow's tech
integrations all taking place at the Foundry a gorgeous locale in Long Island city on August 2nd.

"Rapt Affairs & the Foundry got as close to an Elizabethan forest of delights as you can in modern day NYC.
Earlier this August, I took a 20 minute cab ride from my place in Brooklyn into seemingly another world. I've had photoshoots at the Foundry before, so I thought I was privy to the magic of this location, but Rapt Affairs really took it to the next level this summer afternoon as they transformed the space into a festival of food, cocktails and revelry for the inaugural, Secret Summer NYC event. As I munched on delicious grilled cheese and deliciously sauteed clams from The Morris Food Truck, I was treated to flying aerialists, ragtime by the Ida Blue Band and spontaneous performances from the Shrunken Shakespeare company. Is that couple arguing? Ah no, it's just Demetrius and Helena.* After a few of those craft cocktails, especially a tequila one with cornmilk and cocoa powder, I was even flirting with Demetrius!
I can't wait until Rapt Affair's holiday party. Check out my day at Secret

"For the locavores with a sense of adventure, Secret Summer is where you'll want to be on Aug. 2. The farm-to-bar cocktail and food festival will transform LIC's The Foundry into a sprawling Midsummer Night's Dream-themed party. The event will begin, as good fairy tales do, with an odd character escorting you into a land of unlimited barbecue, a Champagne bar, live ragtime music, Shakespeare performances and outdoor games. Amid all the enchantment, the event keeps its focus on sustainability, including hydroponically grown produce and seasonal cocktails. Day (2-6 p.m.) and night (6-10 p.m.) passes start at $120 through July 15, and there are all-day ($200) and VIP passes (1-10 p.m., $300)."
Lush greenery. White livery. A Bat-Signal to all attendees that 'it is summer and these champagne coupes ain't gonna empty themselves.'
Well it's back, oh intrepid wearers of seersucker, at the first ever Secret Summer, a Gatsbian
cocktail bacchanalia at the historic Foundry in Long Island City."
